The Complete Lighting Collection

A buyer's guide to lighting

From cosy corners to large open plan spaces, the right lighting can elevate any environment.

Designed by MOEBE in Copenhagen, our lighting collection includes ceiling-mounted pendants, table lamps, minimal wall lights and sconces - all crafted with high quality, responsibly sourced materials.

But what makes them different? Which light would work best in your space?

Ambient light creates atmosphere and direct light creates focus. Using ambient lighting (like diffused ceiling lights and shaded lamps) can make a space feel soft and inviting, while direct light (like spotlights or desk lamps) gives focus to areas such as over dining tables, in reading nooks, or in workspaces. Most rooms benefit from a mix.

Balance is key. Pair ceiling lights with wall lamps to layer light and avoid harsh shadows. A pendant lamp can give a central glow, while a table lamp can add intimacy. Choose lights that complement each other in tone and materials. Not everything needs to match, but they should speak the same language.

Lighting can define the mood of a room. Bright overhead light can make a space functional, but it can feel a little cold. Softer, lower lighting invites people in and makes rooms feel more relaxed. Think about how you want a room to feel, and not just how you want it to look.

Choose materials that match your overall interior and will age well - like stainless steel, aluminium or ceramic. Colour also plays a part, with brighter colours feeling more playful, while metals can bring a more mature feel.

Think in layers. Overhead lights give general brightness, wall lamps and sconces add warmth and depth, and table or floor lamps highlight specific areas in a room. Corners, entryways and surfaces like shelves or sideboards are great places to add atmosphere with light.

A good lamp balances form and function, looking just as good when turned off as it does when turned on. At MOEBE, we try to avoid trends and focus on creating lighting pieces that look just as good today as they will in a decade.
